Installation Instructions
These are the installation instructions for MIB 1, which is outdated and no longer developed. The current version is MIB 3; for MATLAB releases older than R2025a use MIB 2. Older builds of MIB 1 are listed in the archive.
Run Microscopy Image Browser 1 under MATLAB environment
  • Requires MATLAB R2011a and newer
  • Download MATLAB distribution of the program (im_browser.zip)
  • Unzip and copy im_browser files to im_browser directory in your Scripts folder. For example, c:\MATLAB\Scripts\im_browser\
  • Start MATLAB
  • Add im_browser starting directory (for example, c:\MATLAB\Scripts\im_browser\) into MATLAB path MATLAB->Home tab->Set path...->Add folder...->Save, or alternatively use the pathtool function from the MATLAB command window
  • Type im_browser in the MATLAB command window and hit the enter button to start MIB
  • Check System Requirements for further details about optional steps, such as use of Fiji, OMERO or use of DIPlib filters.
  • Access help and tutorials from the menu of MIB: im_browser->Menu->Help->Help

First start of MIB 1
  • During the first start MIB creates a template file mib_java_path.txt; to use MIB with Fiji, write the Fiji installation directory there. Details: First start of MIB 1
